I think it very unlikely that he would go a big risk for him and he must have something in his new contract that gives him some extra dosh if he wins promotion.

Although it's Ajax, why would he go?

Any top class manager will want to manage in the PL, and he has a real opportunity to do that again with us, with his reputation already fixed so much after the whole England spell.

He had to go to Holland to get another job and did well at Twente, but then jumped to Wolfsburg straight away which says to me he wants to manage in a good league, which despite Ajax, the Dutch league is not.

I'm sure Steve knows how well things are going for him at the moment, and how good he's got it at Derby. I couldn't see him leaving unless it was for an established & stable PL club.

I'd agree, unless the offer really was "too good" to turn down, but can't see it myself, at the moment he is in a good place and no doubt the board will have told him what finances will be available should he get promotion, he has a good chance to further improve his reputation at a well run club - it would be a very risky move IMO.

Ajax aren't what they were and they'll still be expected to win the league every season. Leagues like that surely offer very little satisfaction and come with huge risk should things not go well immediately. It's a bit like Scotland. I can't see why a manager would want to manage in a poor league where you have to win the league each season to keep your job.
