    Port Vale tonight

With no McSheffrey or Fallon available it's a chance for others to show their worth. Hopefully Burton might get some game time as we still lack anyone to make the ball stick up top. At least Deon can do that.

The truth is that the vast majority of this squad have performed well below the standard required to be successful in this league. Even players such as O'Neill and Madden had absolute stinkers on Saturday and have something to prove to Robins. Time is running out for quite a number.

Somehow Robins has got to get the sort of energy that Colchester showed at the weekend into this team. At present we are slow both in thought and action with the opposition usually bossing the midfield area. Sounded like a much better performance than at the weekend. It could hardly have been worse.

Interesting that we have scored five goals in the two games when we have played Madden out wide with McSheffrey and then Hawkridge playing centrally behind the strikers.

It's a very strange division at the moment. We have managed five points from the three games played since Russ Wilcox departed yet dropped to the foot of the table. A good run would have us shooting up the table but some tougher games coming up.

Big concern is that the back five are still taking it in turns to give goals away with individual errors. Bobby O's turn last night. Don't know if this will change any time soon. Both Canavan and Llera were as guilty as any when they were in the team. Two more suspensions now so getting any sort of rhythm still a long way off.

Massive game against Notts County especially after the Colchester performance. The fans are desperate to see some entertaining football played at Glanford P
