Following today’s very windy weather and our match tonight I remember a game at the Baseball Ground many years ago when part of the corrugated sheeting on the roof of the Normanton stand started to be blown about. Firemen climbed onto the roof, during the game, and released the sheets. They then tried to pass a sheet down to other firemen in the upper tier. A gust of wind caught the sheet and blew it into some of the seated crowd injuring them. It would never happen now. Anyone else remember the game, when it was and who we were playing?
