Just to prove that it's not about results

Tonight was absolutely woeful. I actually felt for the Birmingham fans seeing their team being beaten by that shower. However, I cannot fault a single player. Baptise, Williamson and Marshall all stood out as individuals. Olsson was good, Henley had a great comeback. Evans was so so. Rudi didn't have a great game. Steel pulled off some good saves. Etc. But as a team, it just wasn't there. Marshall's goal was well placed, but laughable keeping. He just stood there and watched it . But it went it, so who cares. But I have never seen so many clear cut chances wasted through hesitation, not knowing who was where or should be where.

It was that bad we we're just laughing. Most around us were to. The atmosphere of the fans was actually good, not in a 'we're mighty Rovers' way. Just that we all seemed to be out at the same comedy show and we found the same jokes funny. That was good, because it would have been very easy to groan. But with Brum being so awful, it was quite relaxing. Team

This just about sums it up as I saw it. Brum should have been three down based on the sitters we missed and then in the last second smacked our crossbar. It could have been a draw against ten men with no manager and a shambolic regime as mad as ours.
Gaz has a lot of work in front him, let's see if he is up to it.

A hell of a lot of work ahead Test. Absolutely agree. How it's gone that far backwards in 6 months is frightening.

And Champs, we really really don't want to make the play-offs. If we did and fluked promotion, we'd make Burnley's season look amazing. It would be fill your boots time for who ever was to be lucky enough to be playing us that week.

    Steele - Shaky
Henley - Acceptable, shaky at times defensively.
    Baptiste - OK
Duffy - OK , needs to learn quickly , he is not too good for us .
Olsonn - Decent going forward , could be better defensively.
Cairney - Poor . Needs leaving out .
Williamson - Dont rate him , never will.
Evans - Best midfield player on the park . Which isnt saying much.
Marshall - Poor 1st half , much better second half .
    Rhodes - Captain??????
    Gestede - Too weak .
    ...
Dunn - Love him , but hope I never see him play for us again . Past it .
    Varney - Really ????
    ...
Bowyer - I am doubting you for the first time .

But, in Sam's time, when I used to say, "Surely, it's not just about results," MANY people on here disagreed.
We are indeed only three points away from the play-off positions, and only seven points from the top spot! I understand that we are playing poorly (see GB's comments on the first-half performance), but that MUST be true of a lot of other clubs too. If anything, we could be ALREADY in a play-off position, because - on balance - refereeing decisions have certainly not gone our way, and there was also JR's missed penalty.
However, some of the comments here suggest we have very few good players, so I assume the argument is that we must, instead, have had a lot of GOOD luck.
It is pointless to compare THIS team with some of our PL line-ups. The comparisons have to be with the other teams in the division - most of which drew today.
I do accept that performances have declined from the second half of last season and that we are not gelling as a team at the moment, but we did create

Shambles from start to finish ..two very pi55 poor teams ..looked like a relegation dog fight. .but 3pts ..

When we did finally look like we may go on and get the crucial second goal ..GB withdraws both our strikers with Brum turing by the minute. .? Gestede maybe ..he looked knackered ..but Rhodes as well?..very very strange ..3pts playing awful... great ..but will we ever improve? ?

It is interesting to note that of the commenters here (as I have muted before) the ones that are 'negative' are the ones actually attending (this time on a cold, damp gusty night ). In comparison, the ones holding the view that its; early days, we are not so badly placed, I think we are not as bad as people are making out, GB is making slow but steady progress etc. are by and large viewing it from a distance, taking from 'reports' / statistics.

    thats naughty Despair
i go to every home match and im not in your "negative" section.
i see a lot of things i dont like, but i cant or dont constantly moan about it.
last night was totally dis-jointed.the only good thing was Marshall- who was unbelievable.
i was a bit shocked to see both forwards taken off - especially with Dunn as one replacement !!!!
we could / should have sent them home with a real battering, but we didnt, so il take the 3 points thank you, and go on to the next game.
i see a team , that if / when it clicks will do ok, o
