Thread: Winston

    Winston

I am starting to loose patience! You have a fantastic offer on the table, please sign or if you don't want to play for us then please go, you can easily be replaced. You have been a very good player for us over the last 3/4 seasons but you are beginning to loose my respect!

Not so sure easily, if that were the case maybe ManUre and their ilk would look elsewhere.

he can be replaced, but definitely not easily.

the amount we would have to pay in a transfer fee to replace him with a player of equivalent talent might justify the wages he is demanding.

Its all part of a negotiation he (and his agent) are after 80K per week. We are offering 60K...I suspect they will meet in the middle unless someone comes in with big bucks.

We shouldn't add to the soaring wage bill by agreeing that amount.

He seems a good player to us because we have such low expectations.

    Been average this year.

With our new buying skills (over half a team replaced in one buying window !) we should have no difficulty replacing him.

If he is going to be a cancer in the club, get on it and cut him loose. All we need during this great run is ol' sour puss Winston bringing us down. I do not like his attitude. Big baby.

What exactly has he done again show discontent and bring squad down? Has he goes on strike, made public statements, had awful performances?

FFS, that's a bit strong. He's given us 4 full seasons, plus a bit of this one, of good service. He is not agitating to be released from his contract. His contract RUNS OUT at the end of this season. Like anyone else he is trying to get the best deal he possibly can.

I guess in his case money isn't the only consideration and, for what it's worth, I reckon if a CL club comes in for him he'll be off but I don't somehow see him doing a sideways move. But whatever happens the bloke doesn't deserve some of the stick he's getting.

Hes just trying to get a bumper payday for this contract. He is in his prime so this next contract is important. He wants 80K.

I don't have a problem with this. If I had any chance of bumping my salary up like that I would do it and its not like he has complained or anything. He's done absolutely nothing wrong IMO.
