    Butland

Watching Butland on tele before he came in on loan what struck me was his appauling distribution which was proved again today. Rammage on RD slated Forsythe for not going forward but he relys on a ball at his feet not a foot above his head. I know But and saved a penalty but the defence had problems passing the ball out from the back often due to the poor first pass from the goalie. Still I expect Eric S to sort him out. Not blaming Butland completely for the loss by the way most of the others were woeful.

In great contrast to Roos, whose distribution is top notch. Roos has great dainty feet and can drop-kick the ball onto a sixpence with closed eyes. Just sayin'

    Unattractive scapegoating going on here.

We had exactly the same problems passing out of defence against Milwall and it is Whitbread who seems to be the problem here.

Butland's kick were wayward but so were some from Wigan's goalie - there was a strong wind at times yesterday.

Butland did one superb long throw to Forsyth that worked very well.

Don't think either goal was Butland's fault and in the first half he did 2 superb saves saving certain goals, one in open play and then the peno.

I think he will get told he should have turned the initial strike, leading up to their second, around the post, but I don't think he cost us the game by any means.
