    Fire Fighters on strike again!

    Must be near fireworks night.

    'we are not able to carry out fire fighters duties after the age of 55 as we are not fit enough. We need to retire at 55 on a full pension'...

    My argument is that they signed up knowing what it was and what it is. They now decide that its not good enough but it was when they signed up. It is still one of the best public pensions out there.
    I have little to no sympathy for them and now they are holding the country to ransom with our lives.
    I personally believe none of the emergency services should be allowed to strike when it effects so many innocents. Yes demonstrate in your own time, after your shift has ended but not during.
    There's plenty of people out there that will take their job and their pension if they dont want it

    Agree Herb, the Tube workers are just as bad. Many others have had pay frozen and things like pensions realigned.

    If you keep your fitness, there is no reason not to complete your duty. I'm 49 and would gladly take on the job.
