    Player Ratings v Brentford

I see all the doom and gloom merchants are out. We weren't at our best today but it was one of those games that could have gone either way. I can only remember them having 3 shots and they scored 2 with clinical finishes. it's not time to hit panic stations, a draw would have been a fair result.

anywho seen as I've got back from a nightmare journey on the M1 where the ****ers have seen fit to close 2 junctions...on to the ratings seeing as D_D or ella (or S4U nowdays!) hasn't made it yet:

Butland 6 - hardly had a thing to do apart from pick the ball out of his net twice. made a couple of good claims from crosses but not a confident kicking display. doesn't seem to have grasped this yet.

Christie 7 - definitely one of our best players on the day and continues his good form. caused them problems and put in some good deliveries. one mistake in 2nd half losing the ball didn't amount to anything fortunately.

Keogh 7 - a very mixed afternoon from the captain. excellent 1st half with a v

we definitely watch the same game ella. all of your points there I wholeheartedly agree with.

re: omar I may have gave him a 5 because at the time of writing the ratings I forgot about him losing his head in injury time that almost caused a mass brawl between 22 players. it's a long time since I can remember seeing that from a derby county player and frankly it's disappointing. it was pure frustration but that's the man utd thing to do when you'r losing, not dcfc.

Absolutely Rapid. I believe that when a player allows his frustration to spill out in a destructive way like that it's because he lacks the maturity to channel his thinking appropriately and is the mark of a sportsman who has a fair bit to learn. Derby have to have the right mental attitude at all times and at the end of the day, allowing impetuousness to get the better of us is self-defeating. It also spreads through a team and needs to be nipped in the bud. Mascare

Butland needs to work on his distribution big time. Omar was not great yesterday but was still streets ahead of Eustace.
I thought Dawkins was on it first half and caused them loads of problems.,I would have taken JR instead of Dawks in the second.
We are playing too slowly at the moment, Brentford were much quicker than us yesterday and at least deserved the draw after their second half performance.
Steve needs to look at this quickly, he was too conservative yesterday and the Coutts substitution would not have happened last season. He would have thrown another striker on and gone for it.
Let's be honest we are everyone's cup final at the moment and we need to adapt to that quickly.

Still in it so no need to panic.. Too slow and too conservative at the mo..

very fair point on the lack of tempo angry. you're absolutely bang on there.

re: the omar v Eustace debate you can only be look at what they do on the ball rather than off it me ewd. there's absolutely no way they would have scored the 1st goal if Eustace was on the pitch. he'd have stopped them one way or another. and this really lies in my point - omar has a good range of passing and knits things together well enough but he doesn't stop the opposition raiding forward like eustace does.

we have 2 centre back that's more than capable of distributing the ball so what we need imo is protection of the back 4 first and then anything else is a bonus. we'll be awesome when thorne comes back doing both.

Just like Eustace stopped Forest scoring... Oh no, he was out of position.

Nothing with Eustace is nailed on mate.. Even die hard Eustace fan club members must know that.

There's a reason why Eustace is on 4 bookings and has committed more fouls than anybody else in the Derby team and that is because one way or another Eustace protects the back four. The figures support that.

How Hendrick gets the nod over Hughes is beyond me, Very poor decision from Mac, I think we all know what's still needed, obviously a proper holding midfielder and someone with a bit quality than Eustace, Frosyth not good enough, and a new top centre back, and I still believe we need another striker, Best is not good enough, not even as a sub. This is just my opinion of course, yours may be different?
