    Looking at Burnley and QPR

You can probably include Leicester too, that could probably have been us (again) if we had gone up.

    What's your thoughts?

If we go up next season, what do you think we should do, to avoid the same fate as the recently promoted teams?

Teams can go up and make a decent fist of it, e.g. Swansea, Southampton and Hull.

Apart from spending millions on a gamble to stay up, what else should we be trying to have a reasonable season in the Premier League?

I think both Burnley and QPR are very much like us when we were last there. Two teams that were never really good enough to go up in the first place. I am surprised Leicester are struggling as much as they are though.

QPR should not be struggling as on paper they still have squad of players with the experience and quality to play at the prem league level.

Fester and Burnley have not really spent very much money to chnage their squad - OK Fester spent a far bit getting into the prem over 3 years or so, but they have not brought in more quality.

Therein lies the nub of the problem, even if a club has the money, actually getting the right players isn't easy - they don't necessarily want to go to a newly promoted team who will highly likely be returning to the championship after one season unless you offer very big bucks on guranteed 3 year contracts - hence why we finsihed up with crap last time we were there.

The trick is to have a squad capable of staying up for one season and build on from there, Fester may do that, Burnley i think will come back down, but be richer for it and not have broken the bank signing players on silly money.

I think a few years back Bolton had the right approach they filled their team with top quality season long loans when Allardyce was there ,they flirted around the top half for quite a few seasons ,however the problem Bolton encountered was eventually their small fan b

not sure Bolton is the best benchmark bearing in mind they are meant to be £160m in debt!

I think possibly ( and I do mean possibly ) the Premier League would suit our style better...we tend to get out muscled by the Leicester`s of the world and after the obvious learning curve we may do quite well

We should find out in a years time :-) COYR
