Feck me Needs what are we compairing here (***** size) the national average is 13cm which in my opinion is way beyond us as we are probably the the smallest in the league getting dicked when 2-0 up against the SOUTHERN SOFTIES.

    re: Know your place

Size of club for me is dictated by size and wealth of fanbase. That dictates the size of long-term revenue (i.e. not produced by a short-term rich owner or promotion etc).

Size of fanbase depends on size of the town and competition from other clubs in the surrounding area. And wealth of the fanbase depends on whether its a town or city club and what area of the country its in.

Bearing all that in mind, Rovers average about 14,000 with some of the cheapest tickets in the league. We're a small club even in this division and personally I think you've overestimated our size compared to other clubs by quite a distance.

Watford, Ipswich, Norwich (miles), Charlton, Cardiff (miles), Reading (miles), Brighton (miles), Fulham (miles), Birmingham (miles) and Bolton are all bigger than us. Their gate receipts will be bigger even when they get the same crowds because their season/match tickets will cost a lot more.

    re: Know your place

I started this because of the unreal expectations of some of our fans , the "we have a divine right to go up brigade" .
Of course we all want the best we all want to win every game and we would all love to see us back in the Premier League .
But we are not the Blackburn Rovers of 20 years ago , not even the Blackburn Rovers of 5 years ago .
I would say we are much nearer the Blackburn Rovers of the late 80`s . Promotion would be a massive achievement for the club now and to achieve it would take a massive effort from everyone . I believe a big part of it would be the fans . We have a talented squad of mainly young players and they are being managed by a relatively young manager .
So instead of moaning whenever we dont win a game or play to our very best , get behind them and back them .
There are fans of many other clubs in this League that would love to be where we are .

Now I have had my withdrawl from sampling the new Theakstons in't club I could not see what you were getting at by categorising us in comparision to other clubs in the Championship, while I agree there is a difference regarding fanbase I dont think there is that much we can do about it other than get back in the Prem, and losing a 2 goal lead against one of the clubs you say is smaller than us is not the way forward, You are quite right there is no divine right to go up as we are in one of the hardest leagues to get out of.

I will consider myself told off need's

Onward and Upward from now on and 3 points at Brighton.
