    help - ad blocker issues

On my laptop I am running Ad Blocker on Chrome. This message being posted on my phone.

When I try to open a thread on my laptop I get a message saying to disable ad blocker or add the site to a white list, whatever that is. In effect the site is not letting me on if I use ad blocker - hence forcing one to pay up or suffer the ads again.

Anybody got any ideas or had same problem? Don't experience on phone version but this now requires a double log in...

Yep, exactly the same thing with me.

I understand that advertisement is how this site makes its money, and now with the option to pay to avoid ads, the site has probably had to introduce a way that either makes you pay to be add free, or view adds and let the advertising companies make their money.

It's very annoying, but if that's the way the site want to play it then so be it.

I've never clicked an add from this site, and even if I do see an ad that I see interesting, I

They are clueless if they think this action will force people into paying. If this carries on Footymad will be finished by Christmas

I can ignore the adverts easily enough, but they slow the site down dramatically and, since I am sure there will be more and more, it may render the site unusable fairly soon.

Ramondo's post on here over the weekend that he doesn't see a problem, as its no different for ad blocker users, are shown to be inaccurate based on my experience today.

It seems that the site will not permit you to access it with ad blocker on, thus forcing you to suffer them or pay up - unless I've got it wrong. With ad blocker on I cannot open any threads.

Please someone tell me I am wrong

I can't open threads with *******er enabled either. I can't even unblock just this site for it to work. I have to turn *******er off completely to use the site, meaning that I get adverts on any other pages I am on at the same time.

    Joke.

Actually I have discovered that you can RFC - go into ad blocker - select options - then select whitelisted domains. Add footymad to the list and it will simply suspend *******er on this site but keep it running on all other sites not whitelisted.

    Joke.

I clicked on the little red (excuse my language) ABP icon on the right hand side of the address bar on Chrome and it allowed me to disable *******er for this site only, so at least it still works on other pages.

    Still a joke though.
