For example take Asia, I think we have say 60 plus members here, you know who are the chiefs of the FAs here, the same goes for Africa.

And both Russia and Qatar don't need the money from fans even sponsors, they could underwrite the whole tournament.

But we can easily dismiss the notion that nations would boycott the WC on principle.

Just look at Celtic this term. Did they do the 'right thing' in accepting their loss to Legia? No they were beaten in both legs but because of an administrative error, were granted a place back at Legia's expense.

They took it with relish even if it wasn't the most 'ethical thing' to do.

If England were to boycott the WC, you can bet your last quid that many others, in particular Scotland, will gladly be happy to replace them.

And if I may add further, the FA and the Press are not doing themselves any favours with their arrogance and pointing figures at other people's faults.


The Press love their scoops and exposes, especially when shaming other countries and their leaders, including football officials. It sells papers and TV programs, but make others who have a key say in where tourneys should be held, feeling very bitter.

The FA regularly likes to whine and moan, even complaining about other bodies like UEFA, IOC and FIFA. The truth is UEFA has been very generous to the FA, they gave them 2 CL Finals in 3 years, even accommodating their 100 year anniversary. And not to mention the 2020 Euro Final/Semis.

But the FA and other bodies like to bitch and complain. London itself was given the high honour of a 3rd Olympics but not before a very acrimonious campaign against Paris, just like the one they had for the 2006 WC with Germany.
