This season we have started very well but as the EXPERTS! keep teeling us "it won't last, when we play the big boys, we will be found out." With our December fixtures iminent, what do you think?
From what I have seen this season, I am quite sure we can hold our own both home and away and finish this "tough spell" with quite a lot more points than we have now. Hope I'm right?
What do you think? Pompey fans, dont be so predictable, even a charity thief can give an honest opinion, whats yours?
Corrected!
Absolutely no reason why we can't give a good account of ourselves over these next few games. The likes of Pelle, Tadic, Toby, Mane & Forster will be looking forward to playing these teams, it's why they've come to the Prem. The main thing in our favour here is the confidence of the team as a whole unit going up against a Citeh who'll be crushed after playing Bayern, a wobbly Arsenal who can't hold onto a lead and a Utd team that are dropping like flies.
If we don't pick up any points we'll still be up there, any we do will be bonus points.
Someone mentioned that this time last year we were 3rd on 22pts but only gained 5 more points between now and Jan 1st out of a possible 27, i'm hopeful we can improve on that.
Theres no reason that we can't carry on winning games, the only thing that might be a problem is the "big club mentality", and can we beat them?.
We will never have a better chance to beat the so called "top four"
I see a Man City having major problems with consistancy and player attitudes, a Man Utd team still a long way off their best, An Arsenal side who can't hold a lead, and if you look further than that, Liverpool and Tottenham results that at the moment are laughable.
In contrast we have been consistant, the players look happy and very comfortable in their roles, and have a manager that can make decisions during games that are match winners, and get the best out of his players.
I think that we will pick up points from the "chosen few", enough to keep us in the top 4 over christmas and beyond, with only a really bad injury crisis stopping our run.
By the time some of the negative ones start taking us seriously we will have hopefully pushed further away from the
What Tumbles said - let's just enjoy the meltdown.
I don't see why you shouldn't keep plugging away and holding your own at the top, let's be honest you've a very decent side that have gel'ed amazingly quickly. Right now I don't see any of the big boys, other than Chelsea, being consistantly better than you so why not. If you get a clutch of injuries over a particular period it'll be interesting to see if you are able to replace and continue as you are, but Koeman seems to know his onions so I'd assume he has a backup plan.
I have no particular issue with Southampton tbh, I like it when we win and I like it when you lose, it's just a bit of a sh!tter that you're doing quite 'so' well right now while we are where we are, but hey ho such is life!
Little Saints will continue to do their jobs, one game at a time.
Five more wins should see us avoiding a relegation battle.![]()
Last seasons pre-christmas slump against the big boys coincided with injuries to key players. We lost Boruc, Wanyama and Schneiderlin for quite a few games and Shaw, Lovren and Fonte for some as well. The replacements made individual errors which cost us points, Yoshida against Villa along with Hooiveld and Fox's car crash performances against Spurs spring to mind. If we can keep a strong squad of fit players together then i see no reason why we can't be competitive in the harder games, as long as we do that then i'll be satisfied even if we lose.
Anything over 30 points by New Years Day would be an improvement on last season and if thats what we have along with a League Cup semi-final in the bag then i'll be happy

I doubt that, you'd have nothing to talk about
