Stats show Leeds having 53% possession . I cannot believe that , second half we totally dominated until the sending off . After which Bowyer organised the team brilliantly to get the win .

"I think it was our best win of the season. I thought we were good first half, conceded a scruffy goal, hit the bar with Tom Cairney. Steele made a good save but I thought we controlled the possession.
"But in the second half I thought we totally dominated the game. I can only remember Leeds hitting the post in the second half.
"The sending-off changed the game a little bit but full credit to our lads. The desire, belief, character, unity and commitment to each other was just unbelievable. And backed by magnificent support today. It was reminiscent of the Premier League days."
not sure i agree with that. we could have had no complaints had leeds took 3 points imo. we were fortunate, but we`ll take it, especially after the millwall debacle.

you must have been watching a differant game to me if you thought we were anything other than fortunate. leeds were first to everything for 99% of the game..Originally Posted by needle
Thank fck Cairney sent off ..his *rest* on the sidelines a few week over due ..hope he comes back with a a lil more fire in him .
I've just had a look at the two managers' post-match comments on the BBC site. Strange, really - you'd have expected them to go to the same match. There's nothing like wearing those special glasses that help you to see only your own team's performance!
Actually, it reminds me of the tv rugby commentators here in New Zealand. If you were to listen to them without watching, you would conclude that all Northern Hemisphere referees are out to get the All-Blacks. There is a deafening silence when a refereeing "mistake" actually favours the NZ team.
It was technically the correct decision. MaybeOriginally Posted by AucklandRover

Best thing I've seen Varney do in a Rovers shirt
Quite right Dan,it was indeed Varneys best moment(to date). I do think the old guard i.e.Varney,Dunn,Williamson, & (perhaps)Robinson are in the squad for their positive mental attitude as much as anything...a sort of counter to Leon Best and (possibly)Josh King. Its no good telling us all how fantastic you are if you cant deliver on the field,at least, most of the time.![]()

I expected it to be one of those really dodgy penalty-decisions, but now I've watched the highlights, I can't really see what the Leeds manager was complaining about. Varney is travelling at speed and the defender puts his foot in, making no contact with the ball. Compared with some of the decisions we've suffered, it was positively nailed on!

makes up for the disaster at millwall.. almost..
I suspect GB meant that from a spirit point of view because in the last three season we would have got nothing from that game. It was nice to see another side crumble rather than Rovers for a change. In terms of the play I thought Leeds were brighter in midfield as well as sharper but up front seemed a bit lacking.
From Rovers point of view a long way off the desired standard but certainly desreved something from the game but probably not all three points.
