Any ins or more likely outs today ...

before the deadline expires at 5 p.m ??

With 32 players currently on the pay roll (including some long term injuries, loanees and first year professionals) making Awfs eager to manoeuvre several fringe players out before the loan window closes at 5pm tomorrow.

At present, there have been no takers. But Pompey’s boss is upbeat over clubs coming forward with interest.

‘We are always looking to bring in players and as long as we are in budget it is something we are interested in doing,’ said Awford.

‘However, the squad is a bit big at the moment and we are trying to manoeuvre some players out.

‘I have not got any specific number I have put on it, I’m just seeing how it goes.

‘It is difficult to do. You cannot force clubs to show an interest in your players, it doesn’t work like that.

‘So far no-one has been in touch but I’m hoping something may happen and we can manoeuvre some of them out.’

WTF do we need a squad of 32 players? How the hell have we drifted into that situation? And the attitude towards it all seems a bit laissez faire. No wonder IMc was looking pissed off on Satdee.

As we now have 2 Holmes's do you think we should look out for a couple of Watson's

Yes lets sign a Watson good idea Bc . I can remember an English cricketer and footballer called Willie Watson. He played 23 Tests plus had 4 international football caps. Dave Watson x 2 if I recall rightly plus Gordon Watson of course

I heard from a reliable source within the club, that both AFC Pickwick and Meon Milton Mens, between them, have made serious offers for 7 of our playing staff. However, as they are always the first 7s on Awford's team sheet every week, the offers were declined. Personally, i don't think we're in a position to be so choosey as to who we sell, and who we sell to. :/
