. I've just been reading his "predictions" for the weekend.

He has stated that he hasn't watched saints ALL season apart from the villa game (hoping for a shock no doubt) and then says that they are not a top 2 side because of it, and that his prediction of 7th or 8th will be right.

What pundit doesn't watch as much of ALL the teams as they can to give them the best chance of an honest, unbiased opinion?
Obviously not that blinkered tw at.

When he says he has not watched Saints this season doesn't he mean that he has not been given a Saints game to watch. They each are given a game to watch and comment on, he hasn't had Saints.
He certainly has an Arsenal bias, but then LeTis has a Saints one.
I quite like Merson because he was so good for us, but he does annoy me by saying everything twice. If you've never noticed make a point of listening for it next time you watch.
Brilliant player though, perhaps not the best pundit. I prefer Charlie out of the usual panel.

Daft comment considering he's covered us for soccer saturday already this season and made contradictory comments on previous weeks predictions. Up there with old saggy chops and his inability to read & write just before the release of his autobiography.

I do enjoy the banter between Tiss and Merse on soccer saturday and i felt that Merses attitude was changing about Saints so to learn of this latest Merse opinion was very disappointing to say the least. If we can beat Citeh on Sunday i think even he will have to admit that Saints are a team to be reckoned with despite playing under par against Villa as everybody is entitled to a bad day at the office every now an then !

If Merson said we would finish 7th or 8th at the start of the season then well done him because nobody else that I heard had us anywhere near the top 10. Although it's just as possible he predicted that last week and hopes if he says it enough times we will all believe it was earlier.

I was thinking exactly this, I'm sure he covered one of our away games earlier in the season and was very complimentary about us afterwards, the guy's an idiot.

So based on one game against Villa, where we happened to put in our worst performance of the season, he writes us off. Like no other teams ever have an off day!

He's clearly a bit thick, not worth getting worked up about. Just ignore.

Just watching SSN and Merson has just been asked who will finish higher Saints or Arsenal?
His reply are you joking? Arsenal by at least 20points. When the studio went quiet he then said "nearly 20 points"
MLT said "well 18 is nearly 20" , to which Merson then said "15 to 20 points in front"

Tallk about back track.


Cant wait to see how his expert opinion pans out.
