Thread: Strikers...

    Strikers...

Pelle: Scored last night after no goals in 6, hopefully he'll be back to form now.

Long: Misses too many gilt edged chances, striker my @rse!

Mane: Headless chicken, falls over too much, misses too many sitters, reminds me of Papa Waigo-all fart and no sh*t.

    Mayuka: Utterly pointless

Gallagher: From what I saw last season he won't amount too much.

Rodriguez: No word on his recovery/return, will he even still be here in February?

In my opinion Ronald needs to spend big in this department because we simply can't rely solely on Pelle.

I think the intention is to certainly spend but as long as there's an ideal striker available. Ings & Kane have been mentioned as possibilities, but other than either of those, who else would fit the bill?

Ings wouldn't interest me if I was looking at consolidating in the top 6 quite frankly. I just don't think he's that good and any deal for Kane would mean Morgan or JayRod going the other way, I wouldn't do business with Levy as a matter of principle.

Tend to agree pf. Mane is a PL Steve De Ridder. Mayuka hasn't been given a run so I wont knock him.

Need to buy in January without doubt.

    Still loving the ride though.

Fifth in the table at this stage of the season is a good achievement. Would have taken that at the start of the campaign.

Agree that having an instinctive and prolific striker makes all the difference between good and great achievements. Look at Liverpool as an example, sold the goofy cannibal and haven't replaced him. How could you?

Like the look of Charlie Austin, his goals will probably ensure their survival. Also like that guy on the fringes of the City team, Jecko. He seems to know where the goal is.

Apart from the second half against City I think we were more than a match in the last three games, with or without key players, where we didn't match them - imo - is the ability to finish off all that good work every time. A good quality signing in January should fill that gap.

    re: Strikers...

A pal of mine went to St Marys last night for some black tie shenanigan related to the Saints Foundation. He text me late on, a bit pissed no doubt, stating that Mohamed Salah is signing on loan for the rest of the season from Chelski. He also said that he met Jose who said the players all want a Wembley trip and are going to give it their all at Sheffield next week, but of course will tow the line with the media and make the right noises about the league.

    You heard it here first.
