    Over The Top?

To read some of the views posted today one would think we were somwhere in mid table with no hope of even reaching the play off places!!

    Get real guys!

I get it that expectations have risen since Zamora and the over paid bandits from West London wiped anticipation from our minds last May, it seems we now expect samba style football and 3 pts from every game!

Lets look at the facts - this is a team fashioned from good promising youngsters and other teams cast offs, that has been moulded into one that can and has for the las t9 months or so, compete at the top end of the Championship - forget all that ******** about the league being "weaker", on balance its probably got stronger albeit its not necessarily the fancied teams at the top at the moment (apart from us natch!).

So we are going through a rough patch of form, when we've lost half of the games and the won the others - yet winning every other game will get a higher points total than if we had been unbeaten and drawn them all.

bang on swales. I've just had a rant on ramsprides thread but it would have been more appropriate here.

p.s. how did you think shotton played today? :-P

I have to say I thought he was dire today, seemed totally out of sorts culminating in the penalty - so Bucko gets chance.

However, of more concern was Forsyth's performance as we have no viable replacement.

I have to disagree with you swale. I watched the game on TV and we were not in it from start to finish. At one stage we had 71% possession, sounds good but it was mainly along our back four. We were dwelling on the ball partly because there were no off ball runners to pass to apart from the back 4. They were in our faces and we didn't have a clue.

It is getting to be a crisis because this style of opposition s now the norm and all the teams that have beaten us have employed it. We have lost too many games recently ad a lot of the ones we won we didn't play that well in.

We need a plan B sometimes or at least introduce some variation into our play.

Forsyth, Best, Hendrick were the worst of a bad bunch, only Grant gained any credit in my eyes and even he sliced several kicks.

We may make the play offs. Wembley is a great day out even if we lose. If we go up we will come straight back down again. What decent player wants to come to a yo yo club.

I actually thought the problem today was that despite all our possession we actually rushed it at the ***** moments, especially first half (missed last 15mins). We worked the ball quite well into the final third then hit crosses in before we had players supporting, or didn't take care with the final pass or shot.

Not a good performance, and I think we do need a more thorough plan B when we have this type of defeat, where we barely register a shot, but crisis balh, blah is ********.

I actually think we might not win until Southport, but even then I 'd back us to come good later on a

Losing half of last eight is "a lot" if you want auto promotion. The point is that other teams will now know exactly how to play us particularly at ipro so life is going to be even harder.
We need a style to counter this but I have seen no evidence that we know how to do it, or have the players.
Rosy Specs as worn by some are fine but blood is rose red and you can be dead before you notice anything is wrong.

I dont understand people who keep using this "Plan B" quote. What do you call switching from 4-5-1 to a 4-4-2?? If thats not trying something different, I dont know what is? As it happened yesterday, our Plan B just didnt work either...not helped by Shotton getting sent off for sure!
