What's Happened To The Old Chants?

When I first started watching the Rams in the 50s and for many years after the favorite chant, when the crowd got a bit quite, went like this:-

Some one would shout give us a D - the crowd would shout D, give us a E - crowd E, give us an R - crowd R, give us an B - crowd B, give us a Y -crowd Y. What have you got - crowd DERBY - DERBY -DERBY - DERBY. Used to sound good. How about trying it again.

Zigger zagger, zigger zagger...Kevin Hector !!

When strolling, just stolling, by the lights of the Baseball Ground. We don't envy the rich with their Greaves and their Law's...just give the ball the Kevin, he'll show you how to score, when he's strolling, just strolling...

Oh when the Rams, go marching in, when the Rams go marching in, I want to be in the number when the Rams go marching in.

I thought it went " you got the best team in the land" after the "what you got" could be wrong

Here are a few from the 60s and early 70s, when going to a match was a little more risky.

We are the boys in black and white. We love to sing and we love to fight.

Aye Aye aye aye, Boulton is better than Yashin and Hector is better than Eusebio and Forest are in for a thrashing.

Arnt you trying to do exactly what Nick did with the south stand? You are doing the same with your Lower Bridgeford?

What's he actually done with the South stand. Got a load of cheap seats and displaced a lot of longer serving fans many of which I know don't really bother now. The atmosphere hasn't improved but as quite a few have said the away fans seem more together and heard

I think the problem these days is the small groups are to busy trying to be clever and make up songs used for a few games and forgotten all the traditional ones or regular ones.

Plus as we discussed on another thread British football grounds aren't a shadow of what they used to be and almost atmosphere less these days.
