A sad ending to a trouble club in recent times. Hopefully a new club can be formed and they can rise from the ashes.

Edgar Street holds fond memories for me, one of my earliest away grounds to in the Sherpa van trophy.

An absolute S4it hole of a ground but boy what a great Awayday remember the Market Tavern and being ambushed as soon as the train pulled in

Edited my original reply as i realised i haven't been there in the league as we were banned after Scarborough, but have been a couple of times in Sherpa van.

I used love it there, either behind the goals or in the tight paddocks down the side of the ground.

Went there in our promotion season 76/77 (old Second Division) and Wolves won 6-1. At the time there was a rumour that some of the SAS guys moonlighted as stewards at Edgar St. I still don't know the truth of that, but I did see three or four of them kicking the sh 1t out of a Wolves fan(who was obviously pi$$ed) in the centre circle at half time. He was then carried away unconscious.

Doesn't sound like the SAS to me. Having worked with them, gratuitous violence is not their thing.
