    Player Ratings V NCFC

    Grant 6/10
Didn’t have a great deal to do despite 2 goals conceded, neither of which was down to him. Distribution good with fewer roll-outs to full-backs and more drop-kicks than usual, in part due to NCFC pressing. Derby’s goal though led a bit of a charmed life, especially last 10 minutes.

    Christie 5/10
Effective going forward as usual but a less than average game defensively, with NCFC getting behind him two or three times and were able to square the ball across from which they should have scored. A very powerful surging run second half saw him go past 3 opponents but final ball went awry. He needs to focus more on the defensive side.

    Keogh 5/10
Did nothing wrong per se; headed and blocked as usual but we looked scrappy at the back and vulnerable, in part because today our midfield was all at sea.

    Shotton 4/10
I’m not convinced by Ryan; we seem to be less robust when he plays and though we often get away with it, the opponents enjoy more space. He j

Not a big response to your ratings today (I appreciate the work you put into this).
I guess it means most people agree with you or are too depressed to respond.
I think you were a touch harsh on Omar who was let down by this in front not giving him an outlet. Its shades of Clough with endless sideways passes and no movement. also playing too deep. As soon as Norwich get the ball Keogh and Shotton started to back pedal. No pressing at all.
I find it hard to believe three games a week is physically exhausting. Individually they cover less than 6 miles a game in 90 minutes. That's barely above walking pace. My Postie does more than that every day.
Mentally it is a bit different but again look at Surgeons who operate on people every day.
If it is so hard lets give Southport a run in the cup and we can focus on promotion.

    A very good account Ella.

My favourite bit was "hoping for the Best!"

I think an extra few days recovery for a team makes an ENORMOUS difference. Ella will provide stats later.

Being honest, Norwich came here with pretty much their whole Prem squad still intact. I thought over the 90mins, they deserved their point, as we didnt really work their keeper enough

    Comments from me
1 Norwich played a midfield consisting of 4 CM's spread across the park. I think this was to nullify our threat out wide
2 When we lost Brys after having already subbed Jeff, I thought we were vulnerable in midfield, which eventually told with their equaliser
3 I still find Shotton worrying. Need Bucko back in there as best proper CH we have
4 Forsyth and Christie having less impact offensively at moment. Cos both are in dips now, makes the issue more transparent

On positives, I thought Chrissy led the line very well and involved in all that was good. Felt switching Ibe to the right was wrong choice, even tho they had brought on Redmond. Ibe has the RB for pace everytime. Saw far less of him 2nd half

This was never an easy fixture, so not the worse point of the season

Spot on. Definitely felt like settling for a point when the fourth officials board went up. The winner was coming.

I really enjoy writing about the game so I don't really mind if people don't comment back. I did these because D_

3 big games in a week - all on TV and all against very tough opponents - makes a huge impact on a player. It's as much about mental fatigue as physical fatigue. SMcC said after the game "there were a lot of mistakes today...passes going astray, not picking up, loss of shape..." and he was right. It's hard to show statistically - you'd have to compare teams playing once in 7 days
