    Squad 2015/16

The comments on another thread sparked my interest on who's going to be here next season. This is our listed first team squad (so no Thomas, Cadden etc) with contract status past summer as far as I can remember - corrections welcome.

    Twardzik - retained
    Nielsen - out of contract
    Stewart - out of contract

    Reid - retained
    Hammell - retained
    Ramsden - out of contract
    McManus - retained
    O'Brien - out of contract (Jan 5)
    Angol - out of contract
    Kerr - out of contract
    Cummins - out of contract

    Carswell - out of contract
    Ainsworth - out of contract
    Lawson - out of contract
    Vigurs - out of contract
    Lasley - retained
    Law - out of contract
    Leitch - retained

    Sutton - out of contract
    McHugh - out of contract
    Erwin - out of contract
    Moore - retained
Ojamaa - out of contract (Jan 31)

Without wanting to go through a player by player - and presumably Baraclough would be willing to retain someone on the strength of a good six months ahead rather than past effort under a different boss anyway - it

You've made my day the scope to get rid of the utter p1sh that is attached to us is immense. The manager has alot of room to manoevere in the close season. There are very few of those listed as out of contract would be a desperate loss. Even accounting for the fact the wage bill must come down there are opportunities in the lower leagues. I see better players playing for the likes of Queen of the South etc..than we have in some positions.

First target is to stay up and if thats achieved get rid of the deadwood. I was tempted to go down the list and mark next to their "slower than me" but would be easier to say who isn't.

The other thing which is striking is that there is not one single player which would bring in a penny in a transfer fee.
For me very worrying and nothing McCall done to rectify during his tenure and left club with a dire squad.
Read an article suggesting who Celtic should pursue Jan'15 .. point being made the majority came from Dundee Utd.

Aware Carswell gets pelters but IMO its the position asked to play and think once Lasley departs will improve.
Cummins, Erwin and Moore all have potential and youth on their side. Besides we can't allow them to walk FREE.
Ainsworth proven to be luxury and like ALL his previous clubs would move him on. He is far from consistent and often AWOL.
Both Lasley and Hammell are nearing career end and each have ONE more year left and would retain for cover.

Would attempt to retain Ojamaa and O'Brien and the rest I'd inform have no future at Fir Park when their contracts end.
The summer must embark on re-building as during January it's only t

Yes this is Stuart McCall's lasting legacy, a pity really. A bit like John Collins' stint at Easter Road as the incoming manager soon realised what he had to work with. Carswell is very much in the Mark Fitzpatrick mould - an honest journeyman with no outstanding talents. I don't know where else he could play in the team to be honest. Of the other young players, Adam Cummins has failed to make an impression.

I'd keep Kerr as he's a Centre Half being asked to play everywhere but. I'd also like to see more of Lawson before we make a call on him but his injury's have been a worry. I'm one of the few that like Vigur's so would keep him. He's a confidence player who like the rest of the team is severely lacking confidence but he will come good and will be a real asset in a better, attacking, passing team.
