An impressive first half followed by a collapse in the second.

Still, three very valuable points. - view external link

Okay two wins, six points two clean sheets, but we were utter DROSS in the second half and if we defend any deeper we will have to knock down the South stand,we have to learn to defend further up the pitch.

Last week BBC stats confirmed St Mirren had 60% of the possession. Today the BBC stats confirm Thistle had 62% possession. That is a truly desperate stat for a home team. Give Accies as much possession and they will not p1ss about putting it in our net.

Although the BBC also says that we had 2 shots at goal and Thistle had 1 so I maybe wouldnt put to much store in any of their others stats!

At this stage I couldn't give a flying f*** how much possession the other teams have. As long as we score more goals than them that will do for me.

The important thing today was to secure at least a point and in the event we won all three. It also moves us closer to Partick than St Mirren. So far so good Ian Baraclough has got us off to a good start. Performance wise it was very much a mixed bag. In the first half, with the exception of the opening 10 minutes we played some decent football, possibly the best we have produced this season. Second half was a complete contrast with us hardly being in the game. Despite their pressure however Partick hardly troubled Dan Twardzik.

Ian Baraclough said afterwards that he wasn't happy with the way we conceded the second half and defended so deeply. That was due to a combination of factors. Partick made changes, and our lads lacked confidence and aggression. Our midfield were simply AWOL.

The team selection I suspect was heavily influenced by Kenny Black's advice and the defensive nature of the line up certainly contributed to the way the game panned out. I thought O'Brien an

Firstly I welcome the three points but thats it. The team and squad are dross ( mccalls fault ). The only thing this lot will ever do is scrape a fortunate win. Every win this season has been very very fortunate have a look if you dont belive me. The only good thing is that the manager continues to see just how bad they are. A very very poor team. Mega clear out needed.

No we won't, you only have to be competent to win a lot games in the SPL because the opposition will throw you wins - as we have done in the past and Thistle did yesterday Yep, Accies and Aberdeen may beat us but many won't - Thistle's possession yielded not one single shot on target in the second half (and not that many off target either for that matter).

The turnaround so far under Baraclough is a reason to be happy rather than concerned so far. Small steps, but at least we're moving again.
