Sportscene pundit Michael Stewart bidding to become Scottish Nationalist MP

STEWART’s featured with two other nominees – businesswoman Michelle Thomson and councillor Alasdair Rankin.
SPORTSCENE pundit Michael Stewart is making a bid to become an MP.
The ex-footballer, 33, rose to prominence as an outspoken supporter of independence during the referendum campaign.
The former Hearts captain made four appearances for Scotland.
He started out at Manchester United and had spells at Hibs.
Stewart’s bid for Westminster was revealed tonight in the SNP Edinburgh West branch’s list of potential candidates.
A plan endorsed at the SNP conference allows non-member, pro-independence candidates to stand under their banner in 2015 as part of a so-called Yes Alliance.
Stewart’s featured with two other nominees – businesswoman Michelle Thomson and councillor Alasdair Rankin.
The seat is held by Lib Dem Mike Crockart, who had a majorit

Stewart comes across as being eminently qualified for a role as a politician.
