    Hughes off?

Before I start let me say It's just speculation, but also may have some substance. Liverpool planning a £7m raid for Hughes in summer to replace the departing Gerrard. Liverpool, I'm told, have first option on Hughes as was agreed between the clubs last year (again speculation).

What are your thoughts on this, for me he's really started to shine this last year and show consistency in his performances, would you be happy to see him leave for £7m even if we were to do the unthinkable and gain promotion?

Just pure speculation as I say but I thought I'd share it with you all the same.

If you think he's a replacement for Gerard you need to have a reality check. He's definately not in the same continent never mind region as Gerard was even at the same age.

The £7m rumour was that he would sign for Liverpool last Christmas transfer window. When that obviously didn't happen and even Rogers rubbished it it turned to first refusal which legally can happen unless the player agrees and Liverpool at least match or just beat any other offers!!!

Remember it was over 2 years ago now that he was leaving for £3m nailed on and at "that point" I said we would be lucky to get £500k during that window.

I don't agree about constancy. Well I do he will perform against bottom of the table sides that give him time and room but is almost invisible against better more able sides. Those are the ones he needs to perform against to show true consistency and ability yet still appears to fail.

If he continues with his seemingly week by week improvement then all this speculation is bound to lead to concrete bids.

I think 7mill would be way too cheap, even if your talking about the player now, forget his potential.

I don't think he will go this window though, even if he's sold we will keep him for the run in.

Just a guess/opinion on my part though.

Where does this ridiculous story keep coming from.? He can just about hold a place down in Derbys team never mind a replacement for SG. Hughes has lots of potential and he will get better and better. But it will be with the rams
Liverpool are after fabion Delph from villa to replace SG.

If we manage to go up this year i think we'll keep him anyway. I just hope He doesn't turn out like Zaha, sold to a big club, benched for a year or 2 and loaned back half as good.

Joking aside bloomer that's probably like for like as to where they are at the moment. The over valuation on no real basis by some derby fans is hillarious!

Exactly. Some people want to beleive hype and think they can sell a lump of coal as one day it might be a diamond. It donesnt work that way.

Compare players like Walcott and oxide-chamberlain and where they were at the same point Hughes is now and the performances they were putting in. They were streets ahead of Hughes at the same point.

As I've said before only a team that will take a player on and nurture them will go for him. Can't see manure especial with current management and as stat
