    I'm on strike again

I'm back to work on Monday after my early winter holiday, then on Tuesday I'm on strike.

I get lots of flack off folk who know nothing of the ins and outs of wages and working conditions in the bus industry.

In London there are many garages all working for the benefit of TFL (Transport For London) some garages have up to 5 different depots across London, The one I work for, Abellio, has 3 in London at Batterses, Camberwell and the one I work at Croydon, I can change and move to either of the other 2 and keep on my hourly rate.

But if I move to an Arriva garage in South Croydon my started rate would be £3:00 below what I am on now, and that started rate will remain for the next 5 years :/

New recruits who are just starting are on a wage £3o an hour less than established drivers for the first 5 years at all companies (except ours which is 2 years).

We voted last year for a pay rise of 2% for one year, Abellio demanded we took a 2 year pay rise which we did because of our P!$$ poor

Well done Alto! Good of you to stand firm against the demon forces of London transport

You should be heralded and not ridiculed as Alfie depicts you.

All hail Wolfie ! Long live Altobelli - view external link

Sell up, move to Burnley and you would be quids in and could retire and enjoy all that Burnley has to offer.

fair play to you, altobelli. had a quick read about this in the evening standard.

    hope you win the day.

question: how are fare prices arrived at? is it across the board or can individual bus cos. set their own fares?
