    Alcohol ban at Scottish Fitba

Being debated by MSPs at Holyrood today apparently (apologies if I've missed a thread on this).

Gotta allow it back, just keep the ban in place for certain games.

I thought the SNP Government would be in favour of it.

im not in favour. the 2 to 3 hours that people go without booze as they go to the game, watch it and come back the pub is time for alcohol to drain from the body and allow the prematch session alcohol disapate before slowly topping up post match.

if allowed to drink during the game paople could easily be p1ssed before the end causing concern for others,

also spillage of drink does cos a slippery surface which can make it more difficult for those walking especially on stairs.

and people at football games tend to have little patience when moving around and exiting the stadium after the game. everyone seems to be in a rush and thats how accidents happen, only 2 months ago someone was killed at celtic park, not sure of the circumstances but people do need to take more care on stairs.

I note the SNP Junta are against bringing back alcohol to football grounds, quite surprising as they are usually well up for populist measures such as this.

Interestingly, they gave the reason that "Police Scotland are not minded to ...".

Funny that, I always thought that in a proper democracy, the elected government told the police what to do. Could it be the SNP have sold out to the police?
