Charles Green and Craig Whyte wont allow their properties to be used as security.

Suppose for one awful moment that the worst comes to the worst - what's Ashley, or anyone else for that matter, going to do to ibrox. Its main stand is a listed building as far as I know so he can't do hee haw other than leave a team play out of there.

Their training ground at Sir Moonbeams Park would be a different matter and may be of value to a property developer but there's not been much coming through there in the last few years anyway and it used to cost a reputed 2M per anum to run.

Cant see even Ashley wanting to do himself out of good will in selling sports merchandise just to flog off ibrox

The facade on Edminston Drive is protected, but there would be little to stop anyone determined enough using the remaining plot for flats or whatever. Or, more likely, leasing back Ibrox to Rangers at commercially lucrative rates.

I see that muppet Chris Graham says it is the last straw...

If its just the exterior (front and sides) that are listed, he can do what even he wants with the interior; i.e. turn it into flats or offices or fitever.

Subject to greased palms and 'planning permission' being granted of course.

Flats at ibrox? It's hardly a desirable part of town now is it?

And doing all the building work necessary for high rise (need to maximise profit for footprint) flats it could jepordise the listed facade. Cant see it happening at all tbh

Its not just flats on offer, offices or even shop(s)... Tesco could still be sniffing about.

But you're right, I wouldnt buy a flat there. Maybe some 'we dont do walking away' numpties might be tempted to buy some...

I think the Rangers fans and the The Rangers fans could be very conflicted (even more than they are now) regarding the purchase of a flat in Ibrox Mews or whatever should it come to pass.

The vast majority would probably decide not to contribute one more penny to the guy who finally saw the end of a team playing at their spiritual home, but there'll be a few who could decide that the baws burst anyway and why not have an Ibrox address for "old times sake".

"See where yon kitchen table is son - I saw the great Brian Laudrup score a goal just about there" kinda stuff
