It was unfortunate to lose Hughes. Hendrick did OK. Jamie put in a shift as did Mascarell, who is good enough but he's not a DCM. The player you overlooked for being very poor was Bryson. He's selection was made by the heart rather than the head I'm afraid.

That's true our midfield are not combative or aware of how to hold their shape.

Not correct. The reason why we were poor second half was because we bypassed our midfield players all the time by hoofing it forward from the back. Grant, all of the back four were all guilty. We did not play to our strengths. Mascarell was more than competent in the first half, as were Bryson and Hughes. It is true we missed Hughes, but even he would have had little influence if all he did was look up at the ball booming over his head all the time.
