For me, not good.
Ok, played out of position, but didn't really look like he was busting a gut.
Some interesting comments from Lambert too, see link below. - view external link

Good lord, I hope he isn't the new Leon Best.
I do think he looks a bit bulkier than in his 20's, but then I think a few us could report the same about ourselves![]()
First impressions...he looked hungry and sharp for 90 mins in the Brighton game. Says to me he is motivated and something to prove away from Villa
Saturday, 20mins in a game where he got no service and around players who were indisciplined with positions, too early to draw any conclusion from that one
He is gonna be a real asset, I am confident of that!
Yes, I agree, he did look good for Brighton.
Important not to judge yet.
Having been impressed with MacClarens tactical subs since he arrived, the substitution on Saturday made little sense.
Bent will not prosper played out wide and he will not be best at chasing back and defending.
To have to switch Johnny Russell to the left compounded the error since he makes a good defensive contribution working with Christie.
Paul Lambert is clearly struggling himself - would not take too much notice of what he says.
Terrible beard. Looks like he should be sitting outside Bargain Booze in Alvaston with a bottle in a brown plastic bag.
Problem was blackandwhite Ward couldnt continue without risking injury and Bent was the only forward player on the bench with experience
Bring in a player and play them out of position ... Didn't another manager do this and get slaughtered for it?
Wrong - Mason Bennett was on the bench and could have been a better replacement for Ward.Originally Posted by derbystig
