    The Compliance Officer has issued the following

    Notice of Complaint:

    Alleged Party in Breach: Steve Simonsen (Rangers FC)
    Disciplinary Rule(s) allegedly breached:

    1) Disciplinary Rule 33 (Season 2013/14): In that between 15th January 2014 and 22nd June 2014, both dates inclusive, you bet upon 18 football matches.

    2) Disciplinary Rule 31 (Season 2014/15): In that between 6th September 2014 and 13th January 2015, both dates inclusive, you bet upon 37 matches.

    Principal Hearing Date: Thursday, 12th February 2015

    Mr Simonsen has until Thursday, 29th January 2015 to respond to the complaint.

    Disciplinary Rule 33 (from season 2013/14): No club, official, Team Official or other member of Team Staff, player, match official or other person under the jurisdiction of the Scottish FA shall bet in any way on a football match (except authorised and registered football pools).

    Disciplinary Rule 31 (2014/15): No club, official, Team Official or other member of Team Staff, player, match official or other person under the jurisdiction

    The rules as currently written are bonkers.

    Loads of people bet on sports fixtures without there being anything untoward involved.

    As I understand it the SFA rules that if you play pro football in Scotland you can't bet on football ANYWHERE. If that is the correct understanding then that's bonkers imho.

    Players playing in Sootland should be allowed bet on games anywhere outwith Scotland.

    Of course players betting on games in Scotland should be censured. Players betting on games they or their current team are involved in should be banned for months if not sine died

    The boy must be a tube or a gambling addict. The rules, ridiculous as they are, are very clear. Plus, his teammate got done not so long ago. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
