But, he probably wouldn't get a game after the Swansea match, as Sadio Mane will be back.

For too long we've relied far to heavily on Pelle, and now with the injury to Long today (who's hardly set the world alight) and the unlikely return of Jay Rodriguez (remember him?) and the injury to Gallagher and the inexperience of the kids we really need to bring in a striker bought on loan. This may prove to be the difference between a top 4 finish or a top 5-8 finish.
Thoughts?

Danny Ings was seen in the Itchen today.
If you put two and two together...
Bit harsh on Long. Maybe it doesn't come over so well on the box but he puts in a hell of a shift as does much more than a striker who hangs around waiting for the ball.Originally Posted by PonyFiddlerReturns
Not sure when we will see JRod but the others will be (should be) back soon so I doubt we will need a loan striker for the rest of the season - unless it's someone like Messi !

I agree completely, another striker is a must, preferably on loan.
Goal aside, Pelle was awful on Saturday. Long is no more than an energetic super sub leaving just Mane (when he gets back) unless by some miracle Jrod recovers.
I'd move for the likes of Mohamed Salah at Chelski, maybe not him but someone like him. A player who can't get a game and really needs to prove himself. For example, look at Sanogo at Palace who ran our defence ragged on Saturday. Couldn't get a look-in at the Ar$e but slotted comfortably in to Pardew's attacking lineup.
Not just Sanogo. Chamakh worked his nuts off, and made some superb late runs into our box, especially for the third goal.Originally Posted by Brockley_Jack
The speed with which Campbell and Zaha joined up with the attack, made me feel envious of the potential attacking force Palace could become. Let's not forget that they didn't need to use Dwight Gayle, who is (I think) their top scorer, this season.
