Spat on, assaulted & arrested: Saltire-waving sisters locked up for 11 hours after Loyalist hate mob rip flag off THEM are finally told they won't be prosecuted

SOPHIE and Sarah Johnson have only just discovered the case against them has been dropped four months after their ordeal and after 10,000 people signed a petition telling police to apologise.

TWO young sisters arrested the night after the referendum for standing up to a Loyalist hate mob have finally been told they won’t be prosecuted.

Yes voters Sarah Johnson, 20, and sister Sophie, 16, endured four months of worry as Crown lawyers made up their minds.

And yesterday, free for the first time to talk publicly about their ordeal, they told how Unionist neds ripped a Saltire from their hands and assaulted and abused them amid terrifying scenes in Glasgow’s George Square on September 19.

Police moved in after the girls were attacked. But Sarah and Sophie, who is still at school,

And yesterday they told how Unionist neds ripped a Saltire from their hands and assaulted and abused them amid terrifying scenes in Glasgow’s George Square on September 19.

Several hundred neds, draped in Union Jacks, had occupied the centre of the square. They sang Rule Britannia, made nazi-style salutes and angrily confronted young Yes supporters.

Witnesses told how the Loyalists hurled bottles and flares. The trouble worsened as darkness fell and there were reports of at least one Saltire being set on fire.

“The Unionists were getting really rowdy, throwing smoke bombs and bottles at the Yes side.”

The neds did not like being c

Good for these girls. We need more young folk like this: Standing up for their country, not lining the streets with glakit expressions waving union jacks as a coach full of *****philes drives past. :/

Those two girls deserve nothing but praise. No surprise that plod completely over-reacted took the easy option rather than the just one.

The photo of those two lassies standing up with their country's flag in the largest city in their county being set upon by thugs was flashed around the world and is emblematic of Scotland imho.

There's a new Scotland coming and the Unionist thuggery, aided and abetted by the forces of "law and order" (irony of ironies) will become a thing of the past. Hopefully sooner rather than later

As expected, this one couldn't wait to support the thugs whilst condemning a couple of wee lassies.
    Typical bullying right-wing thug.
    They are all the same.
Every one of them on here would gladly have swapped places with these loyalist/unionist hooligans in George square and would have behaved in exactly the same manner

    well done the lassies.

glesgae polis should now be prosecuted for wrongful arrest I would have thought.

speaking aboot the polis...wonder why they stood by and did nothing while all the carnage was going on.

...maybe they (glesgae polis) only go for easy targets?

ony how...the union is crumbling and the evil empire is on it's knees...lets hope next time the scottish patriots are better prepared to stand up against the brit nasi-alists
