In my opinion the referee Mr Drysdale was the best we have had at NYS this season.
He let the game flow & showed that he controlled it, using his judgement when he had to, the over ruling of the linesman in the corner during the first half at the home end showed he was in charge. !

Quite surprised tbh, he likes given cards out but got to agree he had a good game tonight. Yes Bolton will have a different view![]()

Thought it was a nailed on pen, but I probably got a better view of it where I sit. Never mind about time we got something in our favour.![]()

not a pen. i sit at the side of one of the camera men and he always reviews the big decisions in slow motion
there was no contact so yellow for diving was the correct decision. also our 3rd goal. bolton player was fouled as he went across our 18 yard box. no foul given and breakaway goal![]()
hehe maybe the ref was not that good![]()

I'm a realist and that was a nailed on pen but he made too much of it...contact 'was' made and Smallwood knew it with his facial expression and body mannerisms...none of ours complained at all...
But prior to the pen when two of ours managed to get the ball off one of theirs and he ended up on the deck he lashed out with a kick at Pringle and maybe that point of failure by the ref to deal with that swayed him with their appeal 20 odd seconds later...balancing things so to speak as their player could had walked for that...Smallwood did in a similar situation once and had to walk...
Overall the ref was fair as tackles went in from both sides and let the game flow but I had to laugh as he was trying to show Derbyshire how to jog off the pitch quickly ushering him to the half way line...![]()

..Matty was having nothing of it...
my first thought was its a dive, The Ref agreed with me for once![]()
I thought it was a pen. As for their man kicking out on the ground, fourth official saw it and you could see him speaking to the ref via his mic, so i don't know why it was ignored.
But if you take away a few key decisions, i did like his style, certainly better than that wimp who couldn't do enough for Bournemouth the other week...and he did ref our win over wendy last season when he sent Johnson off for a headbutt
My mate mentioned the fourth official on the mike to the ref after the lash out by their player...strange he didn't stop play and deal with it? Probably the only thing he got wrong all night...oh and their pen but like I said he probably thought I've left their player on so no to the pen...who knows?Originally Posted by redandgreen
9/10 from me and probably the best Ref we've seen all season both home and away...
