    Rangers and Ashley procedural hearing update

    A procedural hearing convened under the auspices of the Judicial Panel Protocol was held to determine the principal hearing dates in respect of Notices of Complaints issued against Rangers FC and Michael Ashley on 15th December.

    The following hearing dates were determined:

    Michael Ashley - Monday, 2nd March 2015
    Rangers FC - Monday, 16th March 2015

    Complaint 1

    Alleged Party in Breach: Rangers FC
    Disciplinary Rule(s) allegedly breached:

    Disciplinary Rule 1: All members shall:
    (b) be subject to and comply with (i) the Articles (ii) this protocol.
    (f) behave towards the Scottish FA and other members with the utmost good faith.

    Disciplinary Rule 19: Except with the prior written consent of the Board: (a) no club or nominee of a club; and (b) no person, whether absolutely or as a trustee, either alone or in conjunction with one or more associates or solely through an associate or associates (even where such person has no formal interest), who: (i) is a member of

    The wording of rule 19 is interesting.

    Basically it means that the SFA Board could sanction Ashley's dual ownership/influence (whatever you want to call it).

    I didn't realise that. I thought it was a plain prohibition but it isn't.

    So I expect the SFA Board will wave through what's going on at Ibrox probably with a token slap on the wrist for Rangers and Ashley for not consulting them on the matter.
