    Sharm El Sheik, any good?

My missus fancies going there for our honeymoon in September
Just wondered if anyone who posts on here has been and what their thoughts of it were

My son loves it, mainly for the scuba diving but friendly people and of course great weather if you like it hot.

Its absolute ****e, a concrete jungle with armed guards at every street corner. Why would you want to go somewhere sunny on honeymoon ?
Go to Sweden and stay in bed.

greeting from the Ar$e end of the world (not f ...Portsmouth)
    i am originally from there.
look brother there is nothing fancy plus i agree a lot with Bezwak.
so if u have not been any where outside England, you will love it.
but if u are a frequent traveller ,it would be all the same, boring touristy spot after your bobs(money)
    it is very cheap though,
my advice do not worry,it would be fine memories with very friendly locals.
all the best and congratulations in advance from a lazy saint poster.cheers

Did a week's diving there. The whole place is set up for diving really. I went in July and it was flippin hot (lowest it got to was 33 at night). Not sure Sept is that much cooler. During the course of the week, every one of us got the ****s at some point - which is not great when you've got a wetsuit on underwater!!

We had a top week overall, but really not sure it's a honeymoon place unless you want to do lots of diving.

Sharm's on my list, but then I do like diving. That said, a mate & his missus went there for a fortnight in the summer and can't speak highly enough of the place. They're in their 40's and all they wanted was a nice hotel, big pool and some beach front with a decent selection of bars & restaurants where they could chill out, be by themselves and get a tan. If your plan is similar to theirs then it's probably a good place to go.
