    Rangers no shame!!

Here we have a club who have gone bust the first time and left a multitude of ordinary creditors out of pocket. They then wipe the slate clean - start out again and receive a massive influx of cash courtesy of the new share issue. Despite drawing crowds that the rest of us could only dream off they squander the incoming equity and are facing ruin for a second time.

If that isn't bad enough they flout the "conflict of iinterest" rules and recruit 5 players that they simply cannot afford other than through the offices of Mike Ashley. If this doesn't contravene SFL/SFA reglations then I dont know what does!!

The SFA have gone to excessive lengths to catch footballers placing their weekly football bets - part time Michael Moffat being a good example. I will be very interested to see what action they take against Rangers and Ashley.

What chance do clubs like ours have - on average crowds of c.2000 we run a full time football operation, run a developments squad, Zero debt and are only a

Wholly agree RJC. They are an embarrassment to themselves and to Scottish football. A lack of class.

I also agree, this surely goes against the rules somewhere. As a big Toon fan (they are my wee team) I can say that these are 5 quality players that are going to Ibrox and its definitely going to give them a massive boost. Bigiramana is an excellent player whom I thought would have featured more in the Newcastle first team this season, Vukic and Ferguson are also very decent players and full Internationals. Ashley is taking the piss here and I hope this latest piece of skullduggery is fully investigated.

For the deals to go ahead the SFA would have to okay them . Don't see what they've done wrong

    Outrageous!
Can't help feeling that if any other club had someone in the club with an interest in another, the SFA would have been onto them by now. Double standards in my book.

Dont see what they've done wrong?

This episode totally highlights why owners of one football club should NOT be allowed to have an interest in another. It is unheard of for any one club to loan 5 players to one club. A loan of this magnitude has the scope to completely distort the performance of the recipient team and give them a totally unfair advantage over their main rivals.

I have no issue with Rangers returning to the so called top table of Scottish football but any such elevation has to be earned fairly. This is wrong on so many counts and if the SFA allow it to happen then it makes a complete mockery of their conflict of interest rulles. It is effectivly giving Ashley a license to do exactly what he wants. One assumes that these players are being loaned "free gratis"" - Would Ashley do that for Hearts or Hibs where he has no vested interest?
