You have a real chance at Wembley

I was looking at the 5th round draw and a few interesting possibilities open up.

Who knows maybe Preston might upset Cup favourites Man Utd?

Bradford might fancy their chances against an erratic Sunderland.
And Blackburn can certainly beat Stoke.
And Derby must be favourites to beat Reading if Steve believes it will not be a distraction to the Prem chase.

If Derby beat Reading as expected you might get 1 of the others in the 6th round and a Wembley semi awaits.

So you must fancy for chances for a Wembley appearance this season and I hope you make it.
Not this is not taking the ****, but it's been so long since a 2nd tier team reached the Final (was it Millwall?) and even longer for a winner.

It'll be good for the Cup for a lower tier team to win again since 1980. I don't care who, even if it's you. And for sure if you make the semis or even the Final against a Prem team, I'll be cheering you on.

    Cheers Romanis

Football cliche but I think we should concentrate on the league, the prize financially along with the chance to play in the most exciting league in the world is too big. (In the hope that we far exceed 11pts)

Don't get me wrong Wembley trips are great but given a choice its promotion for me.

Anyway thinking of Wembley you could be there next year in the Johnstone paints or whatever they call it this days. Think it was Freight Rover when we were last in it!

Normally my instinct would be concentrate on the league, but with the new arrivals, what appears to be strength in depth, I believe we can give both a real go...

It seems that the luck of the draw is giving us a cup run, I guess it can turn out that it gives squad players game time and promotes a winning feeling and confidence in the squad, OR we do well and it distracts the players from the main aim which is 1st or 2nd spot in the league!

I just do not want to be going to Wembley at the end of may!!

We should def go for it in the cup. We've a big squad now and it is only a few extra games.

Could be an excellent way to get everyone match-fit and involved. It also add to the fear factor of teams about to play us in the league, that not only are we top end of the division, we are mixing it in the last 16/8/4 etc of the cup

Wembley in a non-play-off scenario would be excellent!

Controversial maybe but part of me hopes we lose to Reading.

Only part of me though. I was gutted with the draw, what I really wanted was a big team that we could play well against but lose 'positively' - i.e. "we may have lost but we really showed we could compete with them". A Chelsea type game.

Then we could hold our heads up, take extra confidence from it and concentrate on what's really important - the league.

The cup run before Christmas was one game too far, I was concerned about it when I saw the fixtures around it and I personally think it cost us points. Now we're in the final run in and I would rather we didn't take any risks.

The potential distraction of a Wembley cup appearance could end up costing us promotion. Nothing is worth that. I think that unless you're running away with it, teams chasing automatic promotion can not afford long, distracting cup runs.

I'd love us to get to Wembley in the cup,it would be fantastic for it not to be an all Prem affair as per.Only trouble is I'll be in Kenya with the DCFC Community Trust and would have to watch it on telly!!!

I want us to be Champions of the Championship and win the FA Cup. When was it a 2nd tier club has won the league and FA cup double! It could be another Mac record!

Actually, thats a good point. I hadn't spotted that, it's insane how quickly these matches come at you at this stage in the season. In my head we still had a couple of weeks before Bournemouth because it only seems like 5 minutes since it was!

So on that basis, I'd agree with you. Probably not wise to have a big team only days after such an important game.

Having said that, I still won't be too disappointed if we lose to Reading...

Actually, screw that. Of course I'll be disappointed, I hate losing even when I think it's for the best!!
