Bents cameo on saturday

Not seen this mentioned. I thought DB slotted in very nice for subbed Chrissy on Saturday. His link up, holding ball up and again playing off last man suggested to me that he is an alternative to CM. I remember Shteeve saying his arrival would allow Chrissy to get rested, I can see this happening for sure

He set up 2 great chances on Saturday think one was Ince's that hit post and other for Dawks

I wont be surprised to see him and Chrissy switched before too long, even if only for a game or two

We have a lot of Saturday/Tuesday game coming up, especially if we beat Reading.

Bent will start in the cup imo, and will start some mid-week matches.

I mentioned in my ratings how impressive Bent's work rate and hold up play was. He was so unselfish when trying to find players around him. This is clearly something being worked on in training.

I'm not all that surprised though. People see Bent as a poacher and nothing else, yet when he was at Sunderland he won so many flick-on headers and his hold-up play was good, which resulted in him getting a 24 million pound move.

Not long after Bent came on, Jeff received the ball with a second or two to control and look up. He looked for Bent straight away and as soon as he got his head up, Bent bent his run and created a yard of space so Jeff had a relatively simple thro ball to, play for him.

It was slightly over hit and Bent's touch meant that the keeper could smother, but it was a first class run and indication of what he offers at a higher level than what we have.
