When was the last time we won a league title?

As the title says.. When was the last time we won a league? I know our last 2 promotions we finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. Too young to remember you see!

Must be 1986-87 under Arthur Cox

Beat Leeds to clinch promotion then beat Plymouth last game of season to win league (though from memory Portsmouth lost handing us the title anyway)

So it's been 28 years! It's about time for another then surely.. I don't know if it's just me but I'm feeling greedy and regardless of tomorrow's result, although I'd be happy with promotion of course, I will be marginally underwhelmed if we can't win this league with the squad we've got.

yes 86-87 is right we broke down on way to Plymouth just saw Gregory's goal. what a season that was broke down three bloody times going to shrewsbury won 1-0 phil gee goal got on wrong underground away at millwall won nigel callahagn. got beered up away Oldham won 4-0 might be 4-1 and anyone remember cup game first sat in jan away at Hillsborough bloody awful game and broke down on way home . and we lost.
