We were a good 4 goals better than Yeovil tonight, but I will settle for us scoring the other 3 on Saturday!

Great manager with an under-estimated sense of humour and irony!
Loved it when the ref skilfully intercepted the pass in midfield, brought the ball to his feet - and then realised that he was dressed in black! X-D
Without a pause, Steve offered him the yellow hi-viz top so he could 'come out' as Yeovil's 12th man!

BTW who gave Turton MotM? He was good, but for me that award was deeply etched with Grant's.

If I'm honest, I had Turton top of my list at HT, kept and used the ball really well. The fact that he was down our side 1st half, maybe he showed up more.

Granty was just Granty - excellent, tigerish, never-say-die, always in the game. Pretty reliable these days but we know all of that.

For me, come the final whistle, for pure endeavour, winning a lot of flick-ons and no little skill with his Ronaldo step-overs, Haber edged it. Not seen many games this season but wouldn't mind betting that was his best game in an Alex shirt.
I know many have questioned if his heart is still in it, but on that performance, I would suggest it is. In fact, I was thinking that after Saturday when on the final whistle, he gave a very pronounced fist-pump. You don't do that if you're disinterested!

But a final word for Steve, since this was me

    Personally believe 1-0 flatters Yeovil.

SD got just about everything right for the last three months - with possible exception of allowing Shearer to leave to sit on Burton's bench though, in fairness, there's probably more to that than meets the eye.

His team changes have been excellent, not afraid to change a winning team but just one or two changes for tactical purposes or to reward those who've done well in training or U21 games.

The security and support afforded him by the board helped ensure he did not panic when things were going awry earlier in the season and he has even started to do some excellent forward planning for next season - another benefit of not ditching the manager immediately the going gets a little tough.

The attitude of the players has been commendable also but SD and the management team deserve credit for that too due to the envirnment they've obviously fostered.

Just need to finish the job then figure out how to start a season with a bang rather than a whimper now.

By the way, I'd also go for H

Agreed, and probably no coincidence that he skippered the U18s last season.
IMHO the senior armband will be his too in 2/3 years time when Harry moves on I wouldn't doubt!

He's a lad whose progress I've followed for a while. I've given him a few positive mentions on here, and am just delighted to see him impressing in the team. He's also captained the under 21s on occasions this season, which tells you something about the trust they have in the lad.
I used to take my daughter for physio up at Reaseheath, and while waiting would often watch Dario's sessions with the under 14s; I couldn't help but notice that it was always James Jones that he would turn to, to provide the reliable example for the point he was trying to put over.
Funnily enough, in a chance conversation with Dario in the spring of last year, I asked him what he thoug
