    Macca to villa?

Not heard it myself but a work colleague just rang me and said it has just been said on talksport that Steve was spotted in a posh hotel in Birmingham, make of it what you will but I'll have radio on in the van for the rest of the day

Not a Chance and that's nearly as bad as believing whats written in the press.

TalkSport is an absolute shambles of a radio station spend all day making comments to provoke phone calls into otherwise dreadful shows

He applied for the Villa job a number of years ago - Lerner didn't employ him because their fans made it plain that they didn't want 'the wally with the brolly' - Mac won't have forgotten that and I doubt that Lerner will be willing to eat enough humble pie to come grovelling now...

I’m just relieved that Randy Lerner managed to upset McClaren a couple of years back by promising him the job and then backing out when the Villa fans protested.

It’s my view that Steve remains hurt by the vilification he received for his time with England, and sees top-level success as a means to exorcise that particular ghost. He will leave DCFC when he is given an opportunity to manage a competitive Premier League side.

Fortunately, his reputation has not yet recovered sufficiently to be a serious contender for a job at the big five. At his point I doubt he’d go to a smaller PL club – transfer window closed and jobs only likely to be available at relegation threatened clubs. He would be far better off waiting until the summer when he’ll almost definitely get the chance to manage a smaller PL club, whether it be Derby County or not.

The big problem for us is the middle tier. The ones who should be competing for the Europa League, and if managed well, could be in the mix for the C

Yeah, a world class manager does need a world class stage to perform from.So he is in the right place.

not a cat in hells chance a we would have to give permission that's already been said no. and b why go to a club who's supporters say no and who are going to be involved in a relegation scrap.
