    Mclaren not leaving.. yet

Did anybody see the interview on sky earlier with Mclaren. He was ruling himself out of the villa job but it's the way he said it. He said I'm focused on getting Derby into the premier league. So I won't be walking away to another job at this moment in time. im focusing on the job in hand. Make of that what you like...

We're all gonna die , ... but not yet.

We haven't signed MacClaren for life so he will move on at some point and we might even sack him if results go downhill.

No point in getting neurotic about it.

I make of it that we are doing well and while Steve Mclaren is doing such a great job, he will be linked with every job available at a premier league club. That doesn't mean he should have to rule himself out of the running every bloody week, he has already said enough for me. Newcastle in its current situation, Villa in theirs and Qpr at anytime just why on earth would he even think twice about leaving Derby? The club who showed faith when most others wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. Lets enjoy what the blokes doing at our club and build for the future and hope Simo is picking it all up and will take over the

No brainer for Harry at the time though as Mac's always been a great coach. So if Qpr go down what with FFP fine awaiting them, Conference football looming if Fernandes wont pay up Oh please let them go down, i aint bitter honest

I hear what your saying and I agree. But it's the same old in football really isn't it. Soon as a bigger club comes sniffing the loyalty goes out the window. But it's like you said we gave him a chance when nobody would touch him with a barge pole. But if he does get us up I can't really see him walking away as I think the challenge of keeping us there would be a bit hard for him to resist. But as we all know money talks...

I think he'll consider his options when the season ends and if he guides you to the top flight.

Newcastle have appointed an interim manager, it appears Villa might too. I wonder if SMC will take the Toon job if offered? As a former Boro man, he'll bound to be an unpopular choice with some quarters of their die-hard support. And if initial results aren't good the whole lot might turn on him. Not a job he should seek I think.

I think Villa is a better choice if he decides to leave, but if you're promoted I doubt he will. He'll enjoy a lot of goodwill at the club if that happens and can even endure a poor spell of results until you acclimatise in the Prem.

    Interesting situation.

Many think if McClaren gets us promoted he will stay and take the challenge of establishing the club in the premier league.

If he fails to get us promoted he will possibly leave to take up the challenge of the premiership without us.

The thing is, if McClaren fails this season in getting the club promoted he is more likely to stay because he would not have finnished the job he was bought in to do.

On that basis he is more likely to leave if we get promoted, as it would be job done.

Who knows, perhaps McClaren will be our Alex Ferguson because he is one of our own X-D

Completely pointless speculation IMO, maybe he is just waiting for Van Gaal to **** it up at Utd and then slide on in and show them how its done?

He has demonstrated that he will be here until the end of the season, after that who knows?

It seems the media just link any managers when a prem club has a vacancy, but it also seems that there a number of managers sat on their compensation packages who arent that desperate to pick up poison chaleces like QPR or Villa

Put yourself in his shoes would you say I am here for good? No of course you would'nt.

He is a human being he will have many suitors and he will want the best deal no harm in that.
