Now that we're out of the cup

Now that we're out of the cup, its all about promotion. Lets take a look at that.

We are 3rd, 1 point behind Bournemouth who are top with a game in hand, and 1 point behind Middlesbrough who are 2nd, same games, but we still have to play them at Derby. So we have as good a chance as anyone to finish in the top two.

If we do go up, is our 1st choice, fully fit, team good enough. In my opinion nothing like good enough. Our defence is hopelessly ill equipped to cope with the top flight.

I've just watched Aston Villa who are in the bottom three, so lets compare us. Firstly the back 5.
Shay Given made a couple of saves that I wouldn't have expected Grant to have made, and he's not their first choice keeper.
Allan Hutton was much better going forward than Christie, but it was his error that led to Leicester's goal.
Ron Vlaar had an air of composure about him, he defended well and when he brought the ball out, he passed it to a Villa player. It took captain chaos just 4 mins yesterda

I think we should just concentrate on the question of whether we are good enough to go up for now to be honest.

If we were to be successful then there is an argument to look at the back line first, we certainly need to be stronger there. No doubt the players we have can all play a part, whether they are the first choice is questionable.
