Thread: Adam Lallana

  1. #1

    Adam Lallana

Spoke on Radio Solent about his regrets at the way he left Saints.

He didn't do himself any favours but I won't be giving him stick Sunday.

It was a real shame the way he engineered / handled his exit - a combination of not being the sharpest tool and being poorly advised, I suspect.

Either way, I'll not be booing him during the game - can't see the point, it's counterproductive.

If him and Lambert come on as subs though, compare & contrast the welcomes they'll receive.

A chorus of "one greedy b@stard" would go down a treat if he comes on or off as a sub, or "Adam what's the score" if we go one up, but personally I prefer to get behind the team when I watch Saints. I don't really join in with the anti pompey songs either (I just save all that for on here where it's easier and more effective ). Even when Saggy Chops turned up I was more concerned with singing "RK's red and white army".

What would be best is if we had a continuation of songs about the current squad and nothing about him, good or bad, as that would really show him that he's yesterdays news and nothing to do with Saints. However, I sense he'll get booed every time he touches the ball and applauded every time he loses the ball and gets fouled; which will only stir him up to play better.

How things change in football, I know you're commenting on his departure to Liverpool in this instance but iirc there was someone on here not so long ago, when he was still at Southampton who was rating Lallana one of the top 4 players in the world(!) and a future England captain

    And your point is?

This thread is about the reception he'll get, not the level of ability he has.

I know, that's why I mentioned it, I was simply reflecting on how quickly things can change in football, it was just a comment

A largely irrelevant (and pretty pointless) one, it has to be said.

He was here for a long time and gave us some memorable moments to cheer.
The circumstances of his departure were unfortunate but it's not good to bear grudges, water under the bridge.
I hope he gets the same amount of stick as any other opposition player and that his so-called regrets are compounded by a resounding defeat for his team.

    COYS.

I don't think anyone has denied he is a class player so things haven't really changed.

Like Poopey fans with pointless comments straying from the thread hasn't changed.

A little prickly this afternoon ladies!
OK here's a relevant and objective comment about Lallana playing you on Sunday, I hope he gets booed and I hope he scores the winner.
Enjoy the rest of your afternoon
