    The 80's bands thread.

Inspired by the 90's bands thread I thought I'd start one about the 80's. I know most of you are older than me so if I can remember the late 80's then surely you can!

I'll start the ball rolling by mentioning Transvision Vamp and Fuzzbox. They were both quality and, it has to be said, were fronted by some fiiiiine ladies.

    My era.

    Something for everyone.

Wendy James was hot. I forgot about Fuzzbox until I heard one of their guitarists died of cancer a couple of years ago, good poppy songs and looked the part.

Not my type of music but Patsy Kensit did it for me in Eighth Wonder and also on the female side Sade was quite soulful and shaagable.

Made me think of No Limits (Jennie Powell). Us 80's teenagers with an interest in music wouldn't miss it.

Here's anther fave...Claire Grogan!! - view external link

Jenny Powell looks as fit today as she did back then.

    Laura Branigan and The Acapellas.

(I made the band up, but she probably had someone carrying her microphone case).

Jennifer Rush - the Power Of Love. Latino loveliness back in the day - no one wore buck teeth quite like she did, even Madonna's gap-tooth was a poor second-place.

    Yeah RIP Jo Fuzzbox.

Interestingly I got to meet Victoria Perks (aka Vix, really hot singer) a few Yeats back and I told her I had her poster on my wall when I was young. She liked that.

I saw A Flock of Seagulls in Portsmouth in the 80's. I'd liked their single so went to see them, they were cack.
Did the same with the Eurythmics when their first single came out, and they were excellent.

Wendy James just had that filthy look about her.

    New Order, Smiths, Stone Roses.

Talk Talk were a band that I really liked too.
