    Will Hughes today

I know people have said he's been awesome in some games, quite often away from home. And he's been strong for us and impressive in a number of home games as well.

But for me, today was the turning point. I saw some control, running, intelligence and all round awareness mixed with pure quality that had me grinning and dribbling in equal measures.

Everyone keeps saying how good this kid is, and I've never doubted that. But today I'm upgrading 'good' to '****ing amazing'.

I just wanted to say that. Despite everything else, that was my highlight of today. Simply glorious to watch.

Do you think Rattea will agree with you?

I don't know if he agrees based on current form or not, but then I'm not as obsessed with Ratteas posting as everyone else seems to be. But to be fair, I think the Will Hughes I saw when this whole Rats v everyone else argument started is a different player to the one I saw today.

Was he worth the £5m or whatever a year or two ago? I don't think so, and I would suggest Rats is correct in saying that no other club seemed to think so either. Hence no bid? It seems to make sense to me.

But I would say he's in that bracket or close to it right now, given what I'm seeing. I think we all know that Will is going to be playing in the Premiership fairly soon, hopefully with us but if we don't get there then he'll certainly be with a club that is.

Ive never doubted Will's skill, passing ability, vision etc. Over the last few matches i have noticed a major attribute he has added to his game. Last season he was notably lightweight and didnt for me have a physical presence, this season he seems physically stronger and has shown he can put a foot in when needed - agreed, what a player we have!!!

I still think he's at his very best with Martin in front of him. They seem to be on a very similar wavelength. Will played some great balls into the box today that Bent and Ince didn't quite read. Nothing against them, it's probably just the time they have played together. But Martin would have been on the end of. Martin wants ball to feet, the others want to run onto balls, he's clever enough to adapt very quickly tho.

It wasn't so much his passing that impressed me today, he's always had such a good range on that front.

As FAC said, it's the way he uses his physicality that has improved the most. He did tend to be quite lightweight and he still is in a straight 50/50 contest. But he's a very clever player, he uses his body in such a way to shield the ball in ways that are much cleverer than the average player in this league, so they have to either let him keep it or foul him. By being clever and using some classy skill, he seems to have bridged the physical gap altogether.

I've moved away so can't get to the games every week, but from what I've seen he's bulked up and matured.

A few posted have said potential captain material in the future - is this something you've seen in him?

Definite leadership skills. The guy is very intelligent. He seems to have the brain of an air traffic-controller on the football field. He's a 360 degree player, with wonderful vision. He sometimes appears to be doing something quite slowly but he gets the execution done and you realise that it wasn't slow at all but just so deliberate. I recall seeing Ryan Giggs look that way too. The best athletes/sportsmen seem to have that bit more time on the ball.
He's a talker on the pitch. Not a shouter; he directs people. The way he played Ince in today for the penalty was so exquisite. Watching Hughes play football is to "enjoy football" and thow back your head in admiration. He has a rare quality; it's hard to define but it's th

Whenever I've seen him turnout for England U21 he's excelled. Even a couple of years ago when he had no business being in the team he ran the midfield for the brief sub appearance. How often do we get a talent like William come through? Exciting times.
