Anyone that saw the game can see we're not far away.

We could have done a Sevco and bored our way to a routine 2-0 defeat.

Instead we took them on, played very well for an hour so - and were undone by a bad goalkeeping error and then being too open and ragged late in the game, where the scoreline could have got silly.

A lot to learn from us, but we're by far the second best side in country and that's a vast improvement from most of the past 20 seasons.

I actually just watched the game on sky+ and they were a lot better than i remembered, on Sunday i thought it was us making you look good. :/

I suspect that most if not all Aberdeen fans did not really think they would win the league.


The most pleasing thing about the result was that it should put an end to those in the media who for their own reasons have been peddling the idea that there was a realistic chance of Celtic actually having competition for the title.
Also pleasing is that it will silence those in the media and the thousands within the Celtic support who were calling for the manager's head just because his team was knocked out of the champions league twice by two diddy teams.

Phew; I was beginning to wonder if anyone would ever mention "sevco/Rangers" in the aftermath of a cellick v Abergreen match but good old terrapin managed it.

I think brother Pogue was actually talking about the game, not the league, well done in mentioning Celtic in Europe though, it disguised brilliantly the hurt you are obviously feeling.
