The one and only on Sportsound tonight. Remember him as a speaker at our ' Blue Christmas' night ( Christmas 07 I think) at the Cairndale Hotel and he was very, very entertaining as many of you will remember.

Chopper was coming to the end of his Queens career just as I was going to Palmerston regularly. That's why I can't remember much about him. Good to hear, as NV says, that he could play a pass and there was more to his game than just being physical.

One of the things I remember about Chopper is that if one of our smaller players, Law, Donald Dempster e.g. were the subject of a rough tackle you could bet your bottom dollar that within 15 minutes the culprit and Chopper would come together. No one could see anything untoward ( believe me, I tried ) but the offending opposition player would be left on the deck and play just carried on.
