    Supporter priorities?

800 went City for the youth game yet the next night a few miles north
only 200 went Rochdale to support the first team, admittedly a crap performance but baffling why so many supported the youth but not the seniors, maybe guessing it's the price so a price reduction everywhere would have more of us traveling away? And before you ask I didn't attend either game.

City was free entry. Had that game been the same price as Rochdale I expect you'd have seen about one fifth of the attendance.

You would not want to go Rochdale on a cold wet night if you have ever been there? also over the past 50 years its been a graveyard for Crewe,i am not into stats but i think Crewe have won about 2 times one in 1966 and 1992 am sure someone will have the full stats.

Since Dario took over in 1983, we've only played 11 league fixtures at Spotland. Won 2, Drawn 2, Lost 7. Most of these were between 1983 - 1994. Before Tuesday night's thrashing, the 2 clubs had only met once in the league in the last 20 years (09/10 season, Rochdale won 2-0).

Not a great record, but Rochdale aren't much of a barometer given how infrequently we've played them in recent times; we've played as many league fixtures against the current Premier League champions as we have against Rochdale in the last 20 years!

Former glories are seeming a bit more distant these days, though. I'll be more than happy if we get to make another trip to Spotland again next season

I went to City but not to Rochdale.

Mainly because I've enjoyed the Youth Cup games immensely, was curious about the Academy Stadium and the City set up and wanted to see how our lads matched up.

I've been to Spotland more times than I care to remember and it would n't really bother me if I never went there again. Everybody's different but the regulation away league games just don't hold the same attraction for me anymore.

Credit though to the 200 that did go and those fans who go to most of the away games, it's a massive level of commitment, truly admirable...

we definitely won one there around 1977, Paul Mayman scored, 'Knowing Me, Knowing You' blared from the tannoy at half time long before Alan Partridge had been invented.

    A-ha!

Paul Mayman played for the Alex? Can't remember that, he played for Northwich, Telford Town (Got to the 5th round of the cup with them knocked out at Goodison) I was there as a friend of the Family. Unless we are talking about a different Paul Mayman.

yes, think he was still in sixth form at school when he played - he decided against pursuing a full time pro career if memory serves me correctly.
